cinnamon-raisin toutons

(breadmaker version)

In the bowl of your bread maker, place ingredients in the following order and program machine for dough setting:
1 cup plus 3 tbs milk
5 tbs butter
3 tbs sugar
1 large egg
1tsp salt
4 ½ flour
2 ½ tsp yeast
2 tsp cinnamon

After the first kneading, add:
½ cup raisins

When machine has finished cycle, pinch off small balls of dough (about half the size you would for buns) and roll into balls. Place on a buttered griddle over med-low heat and flatten slightly. When golden brown on one side, turn over and continue cooking until centre is no longer doughy. Serve warm with butter and maple syrup.

These are incredible! We didn't put raisins in because of the kids, but still were wonderful. They rise a bit in the pan, so I guess I'd say, just put in a smaller pinch than you thought and press it down a bit once it puffs up. Butter and icing sugar on them was to die for.
